Join acclaimed chef and author Christine Manfield on board the luxury vessel Aqua Mekong for a week long cruise downstream along this extraordinary waterway to the Mekong Delta.
The Aqua Mekong takes guests on a journey between Cambodia and Vietnam along the mighty Mekong River. As well as a striking cultural diversity, the waterway also presents remarkable landscapes. The journey takes in flooded emerald forests and bamboo stilt villages, incredible and rare birdlife, awe-inspiring wing tipped pagodas and remote Buddhist monasteries.
Embodying the aesthetics of a sophisticated five star hotel, Aqua Mekong has been designed using local sustainable materials and artisanal touches to create welcoming spaces for no more than 40 guests. Special on board menus designed by Christine will highlight the many influences and traditions which have made the region’s food so bountiful as well as reflecting her favourite flavours and cooking techniques. In August/September 2014, Christine hosted a very special tour to Bhutan with AHF, taking a small group of philanthropic enthusiasts on unique culinary journey from the lush, fertile valleys of the western provinces, into the spiritual heartland of Central Bhutan. The tour included visits to the schools where AHF is working and offered guests the extraordinary experience of a private audience with Her Majesty, the Queen Mother to hear directly about her work. Each seven day adventure is packed with gastronomic experiences - visiting regional farmers markets, hands-on cooking sessions, wine tastings, visiting artisanal cheese farms, taking in some special historical sites and dining at local restaurants.

Christine has worked extensively in this region of Spain exploring its diverse food culture, its wine, sherry and olive oil production.
