Greenstone & Gold: Ideas and Flavours. Rockpool Bar & Grill Southbank. Mar 2022

Arabella Douglas, Minyungbal food activist and educator, invites you to join an exploration of Asian and Indigenous ingredients and traditions traded along the east coast of Australia that existed long before colonisation.
With a menu led by Arabella and acclaimed chef Christine Manfield, and produced with the team at Rockpool Bar & Grill with the participation of Rockpool chefs from the National Indigenous Culinary Institute, this is going to be a five-course feast that will truly engage the mind as much as the palate.
“This is a truly multinational story that travels north from Melbourne across 20 Aboriginal nations and beyond,” says Arabella. “We’ll be honouring greenstone, and its place in the Kulin nations, and gold, to recognise the Asian contribution to the building of Melbourne.”
Christine Manfield is bringing her creative A-game to the kitchen, and Arabella Douglas is never less than inspiring as a speaker, promising to enlarge your perspective on First Nations food. “Where does your food come from?” she asks. “And where does it go from here?”
